Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This policy is written in plain language because privacy shouldn’t need a lawyer. In short: I collect almost nothing, I don’t sell data, and you can ask me to delete anything I have.
What this site collects
Analytics (Google Analytics). el337.com runs Google Analytics (G-NY4M10EDW5) to see which pages are useful and which aren’t. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard usage data — approximate location, device type, pages visited, referral source. It’s used to improve the site, not to profile you, and it’s never shared beyond Google’s standard processing.
Newsletter (Kit). If you subscribe to the newsletter, the form is powered by Kit. Your email address is stored by Kit and used only to send the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list.
That’s the complete list. There is no account system, no comments with email capture, and no membership database.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics (via googletagmanager.com) and Kit may set cookies to function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site — content doesn’t require them.
Third-party services
- GitHub Pages hosts this site and handles the standard web server logs.
- Google Analytics and Google Fonts — analytics and web fonts.
- Kit — newsletter subscription and delivery.
- YouTube — embedded videos. Visiting a page with a video may load YouTube’s player, which sets its own cookies.
- Cloudinary — hosts images served on the site.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy; I don’t control their data handling.
Your rights
You can ask me to see, correct, or delete any personal data I hold about you — email joe.maddalone@el337.com and I’ll take care of it. For the newsletter, unsubscribing via the link in any email is the fastest way to remove your data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will update. Questions about it can go to the contact page.
